‘Gripping’ feature-length special of 24 Hours in Police Custody hailed by critics

The Garden’s 90-minute episode 24 Hours in Police Custody: The Siege, which features unprecedented fly-on-the-wall access to a police command unit during a tense 14-hour armed siege in a tower block, has caught the attention of the press and received praise from critics. The run of three episodes continues on Sunday nights.

“24 Hours in Police Custody… might be the greatest television programme ever made”

Richard Osman, The Rest is Entertainment podcast

“The CCTV footage in the block of flats, along with police bodycam film, made it feel as if the viewer were there. It was ugly and intense but it was also very good storytelling”

The Times

★★★★★

“A gripping watch that raises thought-provoking discussions around mental health services”.

The Sun

★★★★

“After 11 series and 74 episodes it’s fair to say 24 Hours In Police Custody is the biggest true-crime docuseries of recent years. Now here’s a one-off feature length special which may well be one of the most dramatic episodes in its history”.
